EARTH TALES / IERDE FERHALEN / KUENTA DI TERA is a group exhibition I curated for VHDG in 2025 with the works of Manja Kindt, Faisel Saro, Raily Yance, Marit Westerhuis and Samuel Sarmiento. The exhibition explores different artistic positions on the relationship to land.
What is your relationship with the land you inhabit? Do you seek to dominate, control or impose a rigid structure on the land? Do you identify with the land by becoming part of it yourself? Do you use the land for agriculture, raw materials or economic gain? And what do you, in turn, give back to the land? How is this relationship shaped by your worldview, beliefs, social position, body and life story?
