Mepsche's Grounds, part of MONSTER ARCHIEF, is a series of drawing-performances which took place on land and paper throughout 2023-2024. The project departed from a map by mayor Rudolf de Mepsche, who initiated the Monsterproces te Faan. By acquainting myself with the visual language of land surveyorship and continuously reproducing the map in different shapes and sizes, I grapple with the complexity of this historical object.
