Grounding Strategies is a bodily & artistic research project around exhaustion, extraction, energy and care. The project combines different experiences, ways of knowing & being, and geographies, to imagine resonant, caring, grounded futures. I see around me many people who are alienated, exhausted and disconnected from the world. Often this does not take place in a vacuum, but these feelings are a direct result of societal exploitation, discrimination and rejection. I find value in using our collective “lack of grounding” as a basis for intersectional solidarity. In other words, I wonder if we can connect by sharing our equal social feelings and caring for each other. From this question, I read books from disability/crip theory, anti-capitalism and decolonial theory. In a series of artworks and texts, by myself and others, we seek a grounded form of being within this society.
